Digital journalism and public governance: discursive mechanisms of radical and extremist narratives in online media

Malika Akhmedova. Digital transformation has fundamentally changed the relationship between journalism, citizens, and public governance. Online media have become not only channels for the rapid distribution of information, but also important spaces in which public issues are interpreted, contested, and given social meaning. This creates new opportunities for public engagement and accountability, while simultaneously increasing the risks associated with the circulation of radical and extremist narratives. The study examines how such narratives are constructed and represented in the digital media environment and considers the role of online journalism in maintaining information integrity and public trust.
